I almost missed out on CanCon, but managed to score a last-minute table when another trader cancelled. What a great event.
CanCon is a gaming convention in Canberra, and it’s huge! People come from all over Australia to attend.
Hosted at EPIC (Exhibition Park In Canberra), it took up four pavilions and more. It had everything from tabletop wargames to Magic The Gathering to D&D campaigns – not to mention traders selling everything from games to dice to figurines and more.
I managed to snavel a table in a high-traffic corridor between two pavilions (one for traders and one for tabletop gamers), and it was also just outside the Magic The Gathering game room.
Wow! CanCon has to be the biggest convention in Canberra. It would have had double or triple the number of people attending compared to OzComicCon Canberra or GammaCon.
If you’re a local, I highly recommend attending, particularly as attendance is free.
I’ll definitely be there next year (assuming I can swing it).
