Moonlit Genesis update

Moonlit Genesis blog banner

It’s been a while, but I’ve finally listed Moonlit Genesis with my printer-distributor so I can get the paperback version into online and retail bookstores (not just Amazon).

Why did it take so long? I was waiting for a free upload code, but it never came. Until now they’ve generally dropped a code once or twice a year.

Without a free upload code it can get expensive to list with them. For instance, listing a trilogy in both hardback and paperback will set you back $294 USD ($49 per edition). It’s half that again to update either the covers or content – double for both.

In comparison, Amazon charges nothing to add books or make changes, you can change anything as often as you like, and they’re slightly cheaper for printing author copies too.

It’s easy to see why everyone lists with Amazon.

By now, you should be able to get a paperback edition just about anywhere, not just Amazon.

If a store doesn’t have it, just ask them to order it in.

Moonlit Genesis has been getting some pretty awesome reviews, but it really needs more. I’d love to get it to 25 or above.

If you’re keen to score a free copy and love writing reviews (or simply want to start with Moonlit Genesis), you can download a free review copy directly from StoryOrigin.

If you’ve already read it a positive review would really help me out. Here’s the direct link to the review page on Amazon. You can also drop a review on any other retail or review site such as Goodreads, or even your blog if you have one.

Thanks in advance.

Moonlit Genesis trivia

Wyvern’s Blood was the first short story I ever published. It came out in an anthology called Nor of Human in 2001.

I published Moonlit Genesis twenty years later in 2021

If you’re familiar with Canberra there’s a pub in the historic Sydney Building called Mooseheads.

Across the road in the historic Melbourne Building there’s a pub called PJs in the City.

These two buildings mirror each other.

Mooseheads is the setting for Wyvern’s Blood and where we first meet Ellie, the story’s protagonist (she also makes cameo in Divine Prey).

PJ’s in the City is where we first met Zannah in Moonlit Genesis.

I didn’t mention either pub name in the stories (I’m not entirely sure if I’m allowed to for commercial reasons), but they’re the settings in my imagination.

Despite the twenty-year gap, both pubs are still there.

All three characters, Zannah, Kyle and Ellie, will appear in the Creature Sanctuary trilogy (Kyle and Zannah in the first book – Afterglow, and Ellie in the third book – Lifeforce).

Don’t forget you can download a review copy of Moonlit Genesis in exchange for a few easy sentences and about two minutes of your time to post them.

Here’s those review links again: Amazon and Goodreads.
