Yep, you read the heading correctly. Amazon’s sharing follower information with authors.
Until now I had no idea how many followers I had on Amazon, and I’m both surprised and exceptionally pleased with the number.
Amazon hasn’t shared any other information like breakdown of which stores (countries) my followers might visit or a means to contact them – Amazon still keeps that information close – but knowing anything at all is really helpful. It helps me feel like I’m on track.
What followers on Amazon means is that when I publish a new book or add a new pre-order, Amazon’s more likely to inform them.
I figured I might a handful or two, and ideally I’d have a couple of dozen.
It turns out I have 718 followers on Amazon! That’s a heck of a lot more than I was expecting.
It totally blows me away.
For comparison, I’ve got 69 followers on Goodreads.
So there you go. Who’d have thunk it, right? If you want to join the conga line (and why wouldn’t you!), head on over to my Amazon profile and click the follow button. You’ll be helping me by telling Amazon you’re interested in my books, which (I’m told) influences Amazon’s algorithms and helps other people find my books too.
Similarly, if you’re a book lover and Goodreads member (or want to be), you’re welcome to follow me on Goodreads.
