2023 looks promising and I sincerely hope everything’s going well for you.
Thank you so much for supporting me and my work over the last year. There wouldn’t be any writers without readers, and without discerning readers we wouldn’t be challenged to do better for you.
For me, that means rewriting The Creature Sanctuary trilogy. I’ve finished the rewrite of the first book now, and what a rewrite it was.
After splitting the original story in half I had to create a new antagonist and an entire new storyline, and I also shifted the setting from Las Vegas to Canberra so it’s more in tune with Moonlit Genesis and Epicentre.
Book 1 in the Creature Sanctuary series now looks and feels very different to the first draft, and that’s a very good thing. It has a lot more depth and heart, and rewriting it helped me find the character stories and the deeper meaning to the series.
What happens isn’t necessarily what the story’s about, and I hope that comes through in each of the books.
Now to rewrite book two.
New Year’s resolutions
My main New Year’s resolution (or goal, at least) is to finish rewriting The Creature Sanctuary and to publish the entire trilogy later this year. I’ll firm up the dates as I go.
After that, I intend to continue writing the Noramgaell Saga.
I’ve got a bunch of personal resolutions too, but they’re probably no different to yours. Things like ‘be more active’ and ‘lose a few kilos’ and ‘get fitter’, not to mention ‘spend more time with the family and friends’.
Hopefully you hit all your own resolutions.
Cheers to all of us in 2023!
Chris
